Bridal Veil Blushers

What is a "blusher"?

  • A piece of fabric that covers the face of the bride as she walks down the aisle
  • The bridal veil is usually lifted back by the person who is giving the bride away, or by the groom after the vows have been said
  • Many modern brides choose not to wear a blusher, however, it is required in some religious ceremonies
Blusher Options:
  1. Use the top layer of a 2 layered veil as the blusher. After the ceremony you will have a 2 layered veil for the reception
  2. Add a detachable blusher. This blusher is gathered with Velcro, and the opposing strip of Velcro is attached to the under side of the veil comb. After the ceremony the blusher can be pulled off leaving a single layer veil for the reception.

Comparison of the 2 methods:
Top layer of a 2 layer veil
  • Blusher will be the same fullness as the veil
  • Will have the same edge finish as the veil
  • If accents have been added to the veil, they will be on the wrong side of the blusher when pulled over the face
Detachable Blusher
  • Blusher is cut from 54" wide fabric, so less fullness in front of the face
  • Will have a plain cut edge so blends in with the gown in front
  • If accents have been added to the veil, they will NOT be added to the blusher (it will remain plain)
**If we add the detachable blusher to the veil that you order, it will make the veil a custom order because we must permanently attach a strip of Velcro to the veil comb. If you aren't sure and don't want to order a custom veil, you do have the option of getting the blusher as a separate item. In this case we send it along with a strip of Velcro that you can easily attach to the comb of your existing veil yourself.
