Important notice regarding change in colors effective 7/8/2010:
1) Due to manufacturing changes, we are discontinuing the old champagne color and replacing it with a new color. The old champagne was so close in color to our light ivory that they really could not be distinguished from one another. If you ordered our fabric swatches prior to 7/8/2010, and planned to order "champagne", please order the "light ivory" instead--it is identical. The "new" champagne color is much darker, with a very light brown tone and is much truer to the name, "champagne". |
2) Because 95% of our veil orders are for white, diamond white, light/dark ivory, and champagne, those will now be our standard veil colors, and we will try to keep supplies on hand to make them quickly as needed. All other colors will now be considered "custom" orders, meaning they will be made to order, can take up to 2 weeks to produce, and cannot be cancelled, returned, or exchanged.
***If you aren't sure about ordering a custom veil, you can certainly order one of our standard ones (which can be returned) to make certain that the style, length, etc. works for you prior to placing an order for a custom veil. Also, be sure to take advantage of our veil fabric swatch samples to make your color match prior to placing your order. |
Bridal Veil Color Comparison
The Bridal Illusion fabric used to make our veils is so sheer that it is nearly impossible to correctly photograph them using any type of flash phography--they all end up looking white. For that reason, we do provide the following photos as examples only of the veil colors offered by VeilShop.com.
Please do not base the color selection of your veil on the colors seen on your computer screen, especially if your are ordering a non-returnable custom veil. These colors can look quite different from computer to computer.
To be sure, we highly suggest ordering our veil fabric swatches for true color comparisons. They are priced at $5.00, but come with a $5.00 gift certificate that can be used toward your veil purchase, so they are ultimately free!
When doing a color comparison, please keep the following in mind:
- The swatches have several layers of fabric folded over to make the color more evident--if we only gave you one piece, and you lined them up side by side, you would be hard pressed to see any color differences among all the colors.
- Most veils will not have nearly the depth of color in them that you see on this page or in the fabric swatches
- A single layer veil will have very little color to it as compared to a 3 layer veil (more fabric = darker color)
- The highest concentration of color in a veil will be where it is gathered at the comb, if a comb is used
- Base your color selection on the tones present in the swatch, NOT in the depth of color
Example only! Do not base your selection on the color shown below! |

Description

White

Diamond White
- Off-white
- At first glance these veils appear white, but when held against a white gown the subtle color shading can look "dirty"
- Works best for white silk, which is not a pure white color
- Warning: If your gown says ivory but looks white, this color is usually too light for it (we get many exchanges for this reason)

Light Ivory
- Very light ivory
- If your gown is called ivory but looks white, this is usually best choice
- Slight yellow tones, but no red

Dark Ivory
- Darker yellow tones, but no red
- Works best for darker, antique ivory bridal gowns

Champagne |
- Beige color with very light brown tone

Light Gold (*Custom Order) |
- Darker than dark ivory, but more gold color than yellow

Peach (*Custom Order) |
- Peach color, with very slight pink tones

Oyster (*Custom Order) |
- Taupe color with light grey tones

Pink Blush (*Custom Order) |
- Very light pink tones (highly exaggerated in this photo)
- This color actually looks white until held next to a white veil
